APPEA postponement statement

  • Due to recent events involving the COVID-19 Corona Virus, we regret to advise that our conference and exhibition scheduled for May 2020 is unavoidably postponed. APPEA will be issuing further information in relation to the APPEA Conference and its rescheduled date, by mid-April 2020.

  • Due to events involving the spread of the virus both domestically and overseas, we find ourselves in a situation whereby we are simply unable to proceed with the conference as scheduled.

  • Whilst it may be necessary for us to cancel the event at some point, we are hopeful that this will not eventuate.

  • We are very disappointed that we find ourselves in this situation and regret the inconvenience that has been caused by the extraordinary circumstances confronting everybody.

  • We will be reaching out to individual members, suppliers and participants.

Update on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

We are actively monitoring the potential impact of the COVID-19 coronavirus on our activities and currently do not anticipate making any change in plans to APPEA 2020. We are committed to fulfilling our obligations in delivering this year’s event, but we are mindful changes may be required. As the situation evolves, the health and safety of event attendees, exhibitors, and staff will be our highest priority and guide any decisions that we make. Please contact us if you have any other questions.

What is APPEA?

The Australian Petroleum Production & Exploration Association Ltd (APPEA) is the peak national body representing Australia’s upstream oil and gas exploration and production industry. The APPEA Conference and Exhibition has been running for more than 59 years and is widely recognised as the premier oil and gas event in the southern hemisphere.

The Association has more than 80 full member companies, all of which are oil and gas explorers and producers active in Australia. These companies account for an estimated 98 per cent of the nation’s petroleum production. APPEA also represents more than 250 associate member companies that provide a wide range of goods and services to the upstream oil and gas industry.

I am new to the industry. Is this conference suitable for me?

The varied content in the program ensures that delegates, whether they are senior or junior, will gain a great deal from attending the event.
