Port Hedland International Airport (PHIA) a well-serviced airport that provides a welcoming gateway to the Pilbara region, an economic powerhouse in Australia's North West.
PHIA is the only International Airport in the Pilbara and offers domestic and international links to the world's largest iron ore export port and major oil and gas resources close to Port Hedland.
With more than 50 commercial flights per week offering direct services to Bali, Brisbane and Perth. The Airport welcomes more than 400,000 passengers annually.
Port Hedland International Airport is home to International freight services, cargo terminal operator, a 30ha bulk haulage logistics development, charter and flight training facilities, a dedicated Heliport fixed base operation and the region’s Royal Flying Doctors Service base.
The PHIA Group of Companies (PHIA Group) is the lessee and operator of the Port Hedland International Airport. PHIA Group’s underlying investors, managed by AMP Capital and Infrastructure Capital Group, are preeminent Australian infrastructure investors.
Since the privatisation of the airport in 2016, the PHIA Group has committed more than $48M capital investment in airside and landside upgrades to improve safety, security, flexibility and capability, including a $30M redevelopment of the passenger terminal and infrastructure, due for completion 2021.
