BHP has owned oil and gas assets in Australia for over 50 years, and is one of Australia’s largest oil and gas producers.
In FY2019 BHP’s global petroleum production increased to 121 MMboe. Underlying EBITDA for BHP’s Petroleum unit increased by US$460 million to US$3.8 billion. We are pursuing high-quality plays in our four priority basins around the world and a US$0.7 billion exploration program is planned for FY2020 as we progress testing of our future growth opportunities.
