COVID-19 update

Despite the challenges COVID-19 presents us, APPEA is committed to educating, connecting and showcasing the latest industry research, innovation and solutions for the oil and gas industry. APPEA 2022 is proceeding, and we eagerly look forward to seeing you on 16 – 19 May for the APPEA 2022 Conference and Exhibition, where the value of connection in a live face-to-face setting has never been more important.

APPEA 2022 will be a COVID Safe event. We have extensive and in-depth plans in place across all our suppliers and partners. We are regularly reviewing and updating our plans in line with best practice requirements and state law.

Vaccination Requirements

APPEA is adhering to Queensland Government regulations in relation to access to hospitality venues. Currently, all persons, regardless of vaccination status are permitted entry to the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC), in accordance with Queensland Health and Social Measures.

APPEA will continue to update registered attendees in relation to any changes in QLD Government regulations.

Frequently Asked Questions

If I’m attending in person, will I be required to wear a mask?
Due to the easing of restrictions brought in by the Qld Government on 4 March 2022, the wearing of face masks at the BCEC and other conference venues is not mandatory and is at the discretion of the delegate. Full details of the restrictions for face masks from the Queensland Government can be found here.

 

If I’m attending in person, will I be required to show my vaccination certificate?
Due to the easing of restrictions brought in by the Qld Government on 14 April 2022, the BCEC and other conference venues do not require mandatory vaccination, and therefore, evidence of same is not required, however, it is recommended that all delegates have their vaccination certificate easily available.

 

What happens if I purchase an onsite registration but I’m unable to attend at the last minute?
You are able to easily swap your registration type from onsite to virtual at any time. If the change occurs after 12 May, please note there may be some additional charges required to make the change. All registration changes must be advised in writing to the conference administrator.

 

What happens if I purchase a virtual registration but I’m able to attend the event onsite at the last minute?
You are able to easily swap your registration type from virtual to onsite at any time. Please note there will be a small additional charge required to make the change. All registration changes must be advised in writing to the conference administrator.

 

What happens if I am in a restricted zone and was due to speak in person?
APPEA is using software for your presentation to be heard and seen by virtual delegates and by delegates onsite in Brisbane. Please contact the organisers via email at [email protected] to arrange how you can pre-record your presentation and submit it to our technical team. Apart from pre-determined sessions, a live link into the session for concurrent presenters will not be possible.

 

What if I change my mind about attending the event in person?
That absolutely fine, you will be able to change your registration to a virtual registration, or transfer your registration to your colleague. Please note there may be some additional charges to make the change. All registration changes must be advised in writing to the conference administrator.

 

How are APPEA ensuring attendees safety at this event?
We are following the advice from the Queensland Government very closely and will ensure all recommendations are adhered to. There will be social distancing at the event and vaccination and face masks protocols will be adhered to. Everyone will be registered so we are able to quickly communicate with attendees with any updates during the time of the event.

Can I still travel to APPEA 2022?
Delegates are encouraged to check the Queensland Government COVID website for up-to-date information on regulations, vaccinations, guidelines and restrictions for the State of Queensland.

 

What happens if Brisbane goes into lockdown?
The event will go virtual so the important discussions can still be had.
