Each year APPEA recognises outstanding work and achievements in the oil and gas industry, with a number of awards presented during the annual APPEA Conference.
Environment Project Excellence Award was Santos, for its Zero Waste Well initiative.
Safety Project Excellence Award was Subsea 7, for its Greater Western Flank 2 Subsea Installation.
The Environment Company Excellence Award was won by Woodside Energy for demonstrating a sustained company-wide focus on environmental partnerships and performance.
The Safety Company Excellence Award went to BHP Petroleum for its delivering changes in HSE culture – reflecting a leading ‘one team’ approach.
Best poster presentation
Jon Thomas from the Queensland Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy for his poster titled “From initial advice statement to export – a 10 year retrospective of Queensland’s liquefied natural gas industry”
Best peer reviewed paper (Alan Prince Award)
Joe Edgell, Jeremy Colman (ERM Australia), Samantha Jarvis (S2 Services) and Ollie Glade-Wright (Cooper Energy) for their paper titled “Demonstrating an acceptable level of impact: An assessment of noise impacts to fishes from a seismic survey in an Australian Marine Park”
